The Games of Small States of Europe 2009 was a multi-sport event that took place in Cyprus from 1st to 6th June. The event was the 13th edition of the Games of Small States of Europe, a biennial games event for European countries with a population of less than one million. The games were officially opened by President of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias, at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

One of the highlights of the Games of Small States of Europe 2009 was the cycling event held on 4th June. The event took place in the scenic region of Machairas, a mountain range in the district of Nicosia. The cyclists had to navigate through the challenging terrain of the mountain range, making it one of the most exciting events of the games.

The Machairas event on 04 Jun 2009 was a true test of endurance and skill for the athletes. The challenging course and the competitive spirit of the athletes made it a memorable event.
