
2025 European MTB Championships: Pidcock and Rissveds set the pace in Melgaço

From June 20 to 22, Val di Sole once again stood out as one of the most iconic venues of the MTB World Cup. On its steep Alpine slopes, the UCI World Cup hosted the three key disciplines: XCC (Short Track), XCO (Cross-country Olympic), and DHI (Downhill), delivering a spectacle full of technique, strategy, and endurance.
Christopher Blevins (USA, Specialized Factory Racing) confirmed his dominance with his fifth consecutive victory in XCC, crossing the line in 20:13. He was followed by Mathis Azzaro and Luca Schwarzbauer.
Puck Pieterse (Netherlands) claimed her second victory of the season, stopping the clock at 20:53. Jenny Rissveds and Laura Stigger completed the podium after a race fully controlled by Pieterse.
Martín Vidaurre (Chile, Specialized) secured a solid victory at 1:27:42, followed by Mathis Azzaro (+23 s) and Fabio Püntener (+39 s). This win marks a career milestone as his first-ever Elite World Cup victory, and the first for Chilein this category.
Puck Pieterse showcased her versatility by also winning XCO, clocking 1:29:08. Samara Maxwell (+26 s) and Laura Stigger (+44 s) rounded out the podium. With her unstoppable rhythm, Pieterse positions herself as a serious contender for the overall World Cup title if she maintains this pace.
Jackson Goldstone (Santa Cruz Syndicate) claimed his third consecutive victory this season with a time of 3:38.862, ahead of Troy Brosnan (+2.422 s) and Thibaut Dapréla (+3.361 s). His dominance confirms him as the undisputed leader of the circuit.
Marine Cabirou (Canyon CLLCTV) ruled the clock, setting a time of 4:10.310. Valentina Höll (+1.271 s) and Monika Hrastnik (+2.191 s) completed the podium. A flawless run that reaffirms her technical strength.
Technical terrain: Trentino challenges riders with loose rocks, extreme gradients, and wooded sections demanding constant focus.
